The Eccles Early Childhood Development Lab is dedicated to providing an environment of optimum growth for the children enrolled, their parents, and the students of the Family & Human Studies Department of Salt Lake Community College.

The Eccles Early Childhood Development Lab is theoretically and practically devoted to developmentally appropriate practice which refers to a framework of principles and guidelines for practice that promotes young children's optimal learning and development.   The Eccles Early Childhood Development Lab provides programs designed for children two – five years of age. Basic to the foundation of developmentally appropriate practice is the notion that children learn most effectively through active exploration.  Moreover, each child has specific interests, curiosities, talents, and a self-esteem which must be nurtured and enhanced.

Salt Lake Community College’s Archives houses many physical collections ranging from Administrative Records, Photographs of Student Life, to SLCC Publications such as the Globe. Amongst these collections we have interesting materials that document the History of the College as well as special Events.

The materials currently being held in this display case represent a sampling of the various objects from our Memorabilia Collection. From Alumni Association commemorative items such as stadium seats with a Bruin Logo, decorative Bruin license plate frames and sunglasses to more historical items such as President Nelson’s Gavel, these physical objects provide vignettes of transformation. One mug, with a road sign logo is part of a marketing campaign from when the College switched from a Quarter System to a Semester System.
Other Presidential realia such as President Carnahan’s commemorative mug and President Budd’s Medal are juxtaposed with a large UTT Logo Plaque (from when SLCC was known as Utah Trade Tech) and the brightly colored SLTT logo featuring the main vocational skills taught at the College when it was known as Salt Lake Trade Technical Institute. Other items include postcards of SLCC Buildings, photographs of SLCC Students, and a T-shirt with the logo from CQ Dream Team 2010.
Ranging from the traditional such as Frisbees and printed mugs to the nearly bizarre, such as a commemorative toilet seat, these materials represent the colorful past of the College.

Chef Menus Exhibit Home
Variety: The Spice of Design
Events and Holidays
Through the Ages

The Culinary Arts Program Archives contains materials which have been gathered over the years to provide contemporary and historical examples of Menus and other materials used on a daily basis in restaurants. Representing selections from elegant gourmet events to those unique and delicious “hole-in-the-wall” cafes, the Menus displayed in this online exhibit are amongst those that are utilized along with others from the Archives in the Culinary Arts Program to augment students’ experiences at Salt Lake Community College.
